Rick founded Fuel Break Capital Partners in 2008 and brings nearly 35 years of distressed investment, special situations capital advisory, M&A, bankruptcy and restructuring law, and operational experience. Prior to Fuel Break Capital Partners, Rick served as a Principal and Head of Restructuring and Debt Capital Markets for Gemini Partners, a Los Angeles-based boutique merchant banking firm, as Principal, General Counsel and Head of Origination for Continental Plants, an industrial focused distressed debt investment firm, President, Licensing Ha-Lo Branded Solutions and C.O.O, Head of M&A for Creative Concepts in Advertising and as General Counsel and Senior Vice President of The Hilco/Great American Group (now Hilco Global and GA Group). Rick began his career in Chicago with Kirkland & Ellis and Schiff Hardin & Waite (now Arent Fox Schiff) in their bankruptcy and restructuring groups. Rick received JD and MBA degrees from UCLA and graduated With Distinction from the Honors Program of the University of Michigan.
